New Call for Proposals from Jugendkulturinitiative

New round of funding for Jugendkulturinitiative
Following a successful pilot phase, the Berlin Jugendkulturinitiative is launching a new round of funding. The program aims to provide young people—particularly those in socially disadvantaged neighborhoods—with greater access to art and culture and to actively involve them in artistic processes. Cultural education should not only facilitate projects but also become more firmly embedded in the programs of cultural institutions over the long term.
More projects in the second funding phase
In this new round, 20 publicly funded cultural institutions will receive support. This will enable twice as many projects to be carried out as in the pilot phase. An accompanying program organized by Berlin Mondiale supports these institutions through consulting, networking, and knowledge transfer, ensuring that the lessons learned benefit Berlin’s cultural landscape as a whole.
Funding Period and Amount
The upcoming funding period runs from July 1, 2026, to December 31, 2027.
Cultural institutions can apply for funding in two phases:
- up to €50,000 for the period from July to December 2026
- up to €100,000 for the year 2027
Eligible applicants are publicly funded cultural institutions that offer programs open to the public within the purview of the Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion.
The application deadline is April 30, 2026.
Further details regarding the call for proposals can be found in the attached press release.
